Three incumbent trustees, and one
trustee elected for the first time, will be sworn into
office on Wednesday (July 15) for new terms with the Los
Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees.
The incumbent trustees returning
for new terms are Kelly G. Candaele, the current board
president, along with Nancy Pearlman and Miguel Santiago.
Candaele has served on the board
since first being elected in 1997, and Pearlman has served
since 2001. Santiago was appointed to the board last year.
He was elected this year to a two-year term for a vacated
seat, while the other trustees were elected or re-elected
to four-year terms.
Tina Park, a financial services
auditor, will be the newest trustee. She won her seat in
a runoff election in May against Angela Reddock, who served
on the board for two years.
The LACCD trustee positions are
elected as at-large seats covering the entire District.
The oath of office ceremony will
take place at noon in the board room of the District's
office at 770 Wilshire Blvd. Later in the day, the board
will choose its new president and vice president.
