Greater Los Angeles African-American Chamber Of Commerce Honors LACCD Dr. Rueben C. Smith With The Special Recognition Award
LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Community College District’s Dr. Rueben C. Smith will receive the Special Recognition Award from the Greater Los Angeles African-American Chamber of Commerce (GLAAACC). This recognition is based on his leadership within the communities the district serves with increasing workforce and economic development, sustainable achievement, and building with an equity mindset with the District’s bond funded construction program.
“On behalf of the LACCD Board of Trustees, we are delighted that Dr. Smith’s work is being recognized by such an esteemed organization as GLAAACC,” said Board of Trustees President David Vela. “Dr. Smith’s efforts to ensure our bond-funded projects benefit our students and faculty while serving as an economic driver in the communities our colleges, serve fulfills the District’s mission to enhance the local economy and close persistent equity gaps.”
