Supervisor Hilda L. Solis Honors Four Outstanding Women in Celebration of Women’s History Month 

The honorees – Trustee Sara Hernandez, Councilmember Ysabel Jurado, Lauren James, and Corinne Sanchez – were selected for their leadership and dedication to making a positive, lasting impact on the Los Angeles community.

 

Los Angeles County Chair Pro Tem Hilda L. Solis honored four outstanding women in celebration of Women’s History Month during today’s Board of Supervisors meeting. The honorees – Trustee Sara Hernandez, Councilmember Ysabel Jurado, Lauren James, and Corinne Sanchez – were selected for their leadership and dedication to making a positive, lasting impact on the Los Angeles community.

“I am inspired and moved by the commitment these four women have demonstrated to our communities, even through uncertainty and adversity,” said Chair Pro Tem Solis. “This Women’s History Month, we uplift their contributions to ensuring that those in Los Angeles County, including residents in the First District, have the tools and resources they need to improve their quality of life.”

“It’s an honor to be included today, standing alongside the incredible women who continue the work of those who came before us,” said Trustee Sara Hernandez. “The fight is far from over, and it’s on us to carry the torch with even more grit, determination, and strength. The challenges we face today demand that we keep pushing forward, and I’m proud to be part of this movement. A big thank you to Chair Pro Tem Hilda Solis for her leadership and for keeping the flame burning bright!”

“I am grateful to Supervisor Solis for this honor. I am humbled to be recognized alongside powerhouse women by a powerhouse herself,” said Councilmember Ysabel Jurado. “This month has been an important reminder of the strength in sisterhood and what women can accomplish when we work together.”

“I am truly honored to be recognized by one of my sheroes, Chair Pro Tem Hilda Solis,” said Lauren James. “She has always exemplified the true spirit of Women’s History, not only through her work but through her unwavering dedication to uplifting others. Her leadership and resilience are an inspiration to all of us, especially women who continue to break barriers and pursue their dreams with purpose.”
