We are actively seeking the following:

  • Talented Academic Administrators to provide leadership to our college communities and students they serve.  Leadership positions are available in the academic, instructional, institutional effectiveness, and student services divisions.
  • Innovative Full-time and Part-time (Adjunct) Faculty to educate, advocate for and engage its students.  There are a variety of faculty openings as educators in general education, transfer and STEM, workforce development and CTE, and non-classroom academic positions. Adjunct Faculty are temporary part-time instructor positions.  Filing applications for adjunct faculty positions places prospective faculty members in hiring pools that are accessed by our nine colleges based upon staffing needs created by enrollment demand.   Interested individuals are encouraged to apply.
  • Non-classroom Instructor, Special Assignment (ISA) positions throughout the District to supplement and enhance the educational and support services offered to its students.
  • Interns for the Project MATCH internship, the premier instructional development and professional learning program designed to increase quality instruction and diversity in community college teaching. Applications are accepted annually.

Once you identify a position that best matches your skills, its time to apply. The Apply Now button is located to the left of the screen when viewing the job opportunity posting.

Helpful Tips:

  • Applicants must meet the State Minimum Qualifications to be considered for an academic position.
  • Be sure to review your application for accuracy before submitting. Your application is the primary screening document used in the process and may be the only opportunity to demonstrate to us you are qualified for the position.
  • Once submitted, it is not possible to edit your application. Applicants may withdraw a submitted application to make necessary updates to their information and resubmit if the application deadline has not lapsed.

Selection Process

Our recruitment efforts are centralized at the District Office in the Academic Recruitment Unit of the Human Resources Division. Each location is responsible for the selection of its academic employees including Academic Administrators and Faculty.

Applications are screened by a committee to identify applicants whose skills, experience, and education most closely align with the specific requirements as outlined in the job posting. The most highly qualified applicants are invited for a committee interview.

The committee will conduct candidate interviews and, depending on the type of position being filled, will either:

  • recommend a candidate for hire and minimum qualifications vetting; or
  • make recommendations of finalists for a second interview, if applicable.

If a second interview is required as part of the selection process of the position, the College President or designee will conduct the final interviews and select the candidate to recommend for hire and minimum qualifications vetting.

Candidates recommended for hire undergo a review and validation process to ensure they meet the minimum qualifications for the position. Following this confirmation, candidates are required to complete the pre-employment process, which includes:

  • Live Scan fingerprinting for a Department of Justice (DOJ) background check
  • I-9 verification to confirm employment eligibility
  • TB Risk Assessment

Upon successfully completing these requirements, including DOJ background clearance, the candidate becomes eligible for hire, with employment and assignment beginning on the specified start date.

Equivalency Review

Candidates recommended for hire who are determined by Human Resources to not meet minimum qualifications, as well as current employees seeking to establish qualifications in additional disciplines, may qualify for an equivalency review. The District Academic Senate, as the academic integrity authority within the Los Angeles Community College District, oversees matters related to equivalency.

Applicants seeking equivalency will be required to complete an application and submit supporting documentation, which will be reviewed by the Discipline Committee for the relevant subject area. The Discipline Committee will evaluate the materials and make a recommendation to the District Academic Senate Equivalency Committee, which will review and provide final concurrence.

Please note:

  • The equivalency review process may take several months to complete.
  • The decision of the District Academic Senate Equivalency Committee is final.
  • Applicants not granted equivalency for a specific discipline are not eligible for employment in that discipline.

For inquiries regarding equivalency, please contact Eloise Crippens, District Equivalency Coordinator, at (213) 891-2296 or at @email
