The safety and well-being of the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) community remains our top priorities as we navigate the ongoing fires and their impacts on our region. This webpage serves as a hub for the latest updates, available resources, and ways you can support those affected during this challenging time. 

Please prioritize your safety: 

  • Avoid areas with heavy tree cover or unsecured objects during high winds. 

  • Be mindful of air quality and limit outdoor activities if smoke from fires is present. 

  • Follow all instructions from local authorities and emergency personnel in the event of an evacuation or other emergency.

Local Assistance & Disaster Resource Centers for Impacted Residents

Local Assistance & Disaster Resource Centers are open and available to the public Monday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM .

Telus Health (EAP) Resources

  • 24/7 Confidential Support Line: 1-800-581-1485 

  • Counseling Services: Access professional counseling to help manage stress, anxiety, and emotional well-being. 

  • Resources and Guidance: Connect with specialists for assistance in finding temporary housing, legal advice, or navigating insurance claims.

LA Strong: Disaster Response Fund

The Foundation for the Los Angeles Community Colleges has launched the LA Strong: Disaster Response Fund to provide direct assistance to LACCD students and employees impacted by recent fires in LA County.

Support for LACCD Employees
If you are a part-time or full-time LACCD employee displaced from housing due to the fires, you may apply for financial assistance. This funding is available to those who have experienced a verified loss of housing, including homes that were destroyed, damaged, or deemed unsafe for occupancy. Unfortunately, employees who have been temporarily evacuated are not eligible for funding at this time.

  • Application: Employee Disaster Fund Application
  • Timeline: Completing the application will take less than 10 minutes, and you can expect a response within 2 business days.

Additionally, Human Resources is actively supporting employees directly affected by the fires. For immediate assistance, email HR at @email for personalized assistance and disaster leave options.
