Our Commitment

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is committed to ensuring a safe, violence-free learning and work environment within the District. Our top priority is the effective management and resolution of any incidents involving actual or potential workplace violence.

LACCD's Workplace Violence Policies, Procedures, and Plan

To address and respond to workplace violence, LACCD adheres to the following policies and procedures:

In accordance with California Labor Code Section 6401.9, LACCD has developed a Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) which includes the following elements:

  • Prohibiting employee retaliation
  • Accepting and responding to reports of workplace violence
  • Employee workplace violence training and communication
  • Emergency response
  • Workplace violence hazard assessments
  • Other requirements (i.e. maintaining a Violent Incident Log)

Reporting a Workplace Violence Incident

We strongly encourage you to report any incidents of workplace violence to the District and or law enforcement as appropriate. You have the right to file a report with both the District and law enforcement.

Your Safety is Our Top Priority

If you experience workplace violence, your safety is the foremost concern. In the event of an emergency or any immediate danger, please call  Leonard McCray, Director of Safety and Security Services at (323) 265-8640 or contact the Sheriff's station at your college without delay.

Support and Information

LACCD has designated professionals to assist with workplace violence concerns. Our Safety Officers are here to provide support, offer resources, and guide you through procedural options. Don’t hesitate to reach out to them for assistance.
