LACCD Makes Historic Benefits Option With Laccd Adjunct Faculty
LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is changing the game for its adjunct faculty members. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, LACCD has agreed to offer healthcare coverage eligibility to all adjunct faculty members currently employed at 0.33 full-time equivalent (“FTE”) or greater for the semester.
“On behalf of the LACCD Board of Trustees, we stand in support of our hard-working, teaching faculty,” said Board of Trustees President David Vela. “This historic plan, which will benefit so many, shows the dedication and commitment the District has to provide essential benefits to our employees in our District.”
“We’re proud to announce that, together, we've reached an impactful and historic MOU with our faculty colleagues,” said Chancellor Francisco C. Rodriguez. “Adjunct faculty and their dependents will remain eligible to enroll in the same medical and District premium contribution plans as full-time faculty members.”
