Sherlyn Gomez - LAHC Student Spotlight of the Week

Sherlyn Gomez, a 2023 graduate of Bishop Montgomery High School, earned an impressive unweighted 3.8 GPA before joining the Harbor Cross Country team in the summer of 2023.

In her first season of competition, she quickly made her mark, finishing 7th at the South Coast Conference Championships, 23rd at the Southern California Championships, and 25th at the State Championships. Her dedication and relentless work ethic made her the most improved runner in the state, achieving a personal record of 18:33.1.

Building on her success, Sherlyn dominated the 2024 season, claiming the title of South Coast Conference Individual Cross Country Champion. She went on to place 7th overall at the Southern California Championships, earning a spot on the prestigious SoCal "All First Team." At the State Championships, she delivered a standout performance finishing 4th overall and achieving All-American status.

Beyond her athletic achievements, Sherlyn maintains a 3.8 GPA at Harbor College and is pursuing a major in psychobiology/biology.
